Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower

This Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Recipe is a healthier, vegetarian twist on classic Buffalo wings.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cauliflower cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or a gluten-free alternative
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs optional for extra crunch
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Silicone or pastry brush

Method

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower:
  2. Wash and cut the cauliflower into even-sized florets. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. Make the Batter:
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, water, garlic powder, paprika, and salt until smooth.
  5. Coat the Cauliflower:
  6. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting any excess drip off. If using panko breadcrumbs, roll the battered florets in the breadcrumbs for added crunch.
  7. Air Fry the Cauliflower:
  8. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the coated florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
  9. Prepare the Buffalo Sauce:
  10. In a small bowl, mix the Buffalo sauce and melted butter.
  11. Toss in Sauce:
  12. Transfer the cooked cauliflower to a large bowl and toss gently with the Buffalo sauce until well coated.
  13. Finish Cooking (Optional):
  14. Return the sauced cauliflower to the air fryer for an additional 3–5 minutes to set the sauce and enhance the crispiness.
