Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using) on both sides.
Sear the Chicken:
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Garlic:
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Make the Sauce:
Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze it. Add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, whisking until smooth. Stir in the Italian seasoning.
Simmer the Sauce:
Let the sauce cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Combine Chicken and Sauce:
Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the chicken to absorb the flavors.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve immediately.
