Homemade Fried Cheese Bites

Homemade Fried Cheese Bites  are the perfect snack that’s deliciously crispy on the outside and filled with a molten, gooey cheese center. They’re irresistibly satisfying without being overly heavy, making them an excellent appetizer or party favorite.

Equipment

  • Deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Slotted spoon or kitchen tongs
  • Paper towels

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups cheese cubes mozzarella, cheddar, or preferred variety
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Cut the cheese into 1-inch cubes and freeze for at least 30 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Prepare three bowls: one with flour and garlic powder, one with whisked eggs and water, and one with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • Coat each frozen cheese cube in flour, then dip in the egg wash, and finally coat in breadcrumbs. Repeat for a double coating.
  • Freeze the breaded cheese cubes for another 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the cheese bites in batches until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with dipping sauce.
