Walking Taco Casserole

This Walking Taco Casserole has all the fun of a walking taco, layered into a single dish that’s easy to bake and serve. Imagine layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy refried beans, and a topping of crushed tortilla chips or corn chips, all baked until bubbly. Just add your favorite taco toppings, and you’re ready to go!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa or 1 can Rotel
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 3 cups crushed corn chips or tortilla chips
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce diced tomatoes, sour cream, green onions, jalapeños

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing spoon
  • Measuring spoons and cups

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef; drain. Add taco seasoning and salsa or Rotel.
  2. Spread refried beans in baking dish, then top with beef mixture and cheese.
  3. Layer crushed chips on top.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Add toppings and serve.
